2004 Oregon Trip

Mount Shasta

Our first stop was to spend the night at a rest stop near Redding, CA. The next morning, in the distance we saw Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta (elevation 14,162 ft.) was in sight for a couple of hours until we pulled over in the town of Weed, CA (elevation 3,440 feet) about 50 miles from the Oregon border and 10 miles from the summit of Mt. Shasta. What a mountain, towering over the nearby terrain by about 2 miles of elevation!
