2004 Oregon Trip - Other Beaches and Scenery

Carl G. Washburne Memorial Campground and Beach

A campground in the rain forest and just across the road is a beautiful beach.

The beach is flat and sandy. The kids brought a lot of it back to the motorhome with them (and it ended up in San Jose in our utility sink). The breakers are there, but a long way out compared to most other Oregon beaches.
The temperate rain forest was a bit of a surprise. It was raining while we were there (note the spots on the last photo). It was a very different forest from the redwoods we are used to.
