Dedicated to linking the hearts of the children to the fathers.
C'mon in, sit awhile and let us tell you
a little about us. We have been married for over 30 years and have raised, with
varying degrees of success, 7 children
to adulthood. We've lived in San Jose,
California for the past 20 years. We have also lived in Schenectady
and Scotia, New York but in a larger sense, home is still around Logan,
Utah.
"HEARTLINKS" reflects our feelings for one another, but "HEARTLINKS" is also a celebration of a multi-generational family. In the mid 1800's, our ancestors joined the Mormon Church and left their homes in Canada, Scotland, England, Wales and Denmark to settle Utah. Today, our own descendants and their spouses number around 20 and our extended family numbers in the hundreds, scattered across the world.
Our ancestors travelled to Utah in time to be counted as pioneers. As used by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, in order to be classified as a Utah pioneer, a person had to arrive in Utah before the railroad, around 1866. Check out the Mormon Sesquicentennial wagon train and Mormon trail pages I have added.
The idea behind this page came to us a few years back when we realized that
many of the old stories that we heard from relatives would be lost if we didn't
do something to make them accessible to those of our generation and their children.
Many of those stories are too precious to be lost, but until recently, we didn't
have access to the media that would preserve the vitality of the lives of those
who had gone before.
Of course, it will take us awhile to compile those stories. In the meantime,
we invite you to share the We also want to share our family
album, our kids and grandkids. We have "grandparent" memberships in the
Monterey Bay Aquarium
and the Children's Discovery
Museum here in San Jose.
If travel is your bag (or your cyber bags are packed for travel), check out
our travel pages. We are planning to have pictures
and links from Yellowstone and the Tetons, the San
Francisco Bay Area,
stories
we have here.
Tahoe and other California spots.
But our favorite destination is that spot in Northern Utah where we grew up,
Cache Valley, Utah.
This page is like a baby, growing, changing and evolving. Please come back later to see what we've done.
